Garden Sanctuary

The need to recover from a grueling, international business travel schedule prompted this client to construct a space that would allow her to unwind outdoors, in relative privacy. Previously the rear yard was characterized by a barren lawn after an ancient cottonwood tree was removed. The existing concrete terrace was hot and exposed but perfectly functional and intact, so it was wrapped with soft, colorful plant material that made the space cool and inviting. The front walk, steps and porch were also redesigned and reconstructed to eliminate slippery and unsightly stamped concrete.
